README
Status of the XXL DB (31st August 2011)
The DB holds:
- The complete C1 + C2 cluster sample from the initial XMM-LSS area. Note that some of these clusters are not published yet. The completion of the spectroscopic follow-up is underway and the sample will be released asap (Clerc et al - thesis work in prep.). If some consortium members are interested in using these unpublished XMM-LSS clusters, please contact us.
- The C1 + C2 clusters detected in the new XXL observations.
- The current cluster candidate catalogue has not been screened yet (to be achieved by the loto procedure): some contamination is expected for the C1 clusters (nearby galaxies, saturated points sources); for the C2 sample, a 50% contamination by misclassified point sources is expected, per definition.
- Each cluster candidate is referenced by a tag (n for the LSS region, and s for the BCS region). Once clusters are duly confirmed (optimally by spectroscopic redshifts) they are ascribed a XLSSC number.
- Colour optical images and photometric redshifts for the clusters
in the BCS region were provided by F. Menanteau.
The photometric redshifts in the CFHTLS area were provided by Ch. Benoist.
- In the case where no photometric cluster redshift could be derived, the z cluster value is set to 99.
- We are seeking any possible further information on cluster redshifts (photometric or, ideally, spectroscopic).
- The NED column lists only coincidences within a radius of 3′ around the X-ray centroid, for which a redshift indication is available (photo or spectro).
- If collaborators have detected (in X-ray, optical, S-Z, ...) cluster candidates that are not in the XXL DB, please contact us: we will integrate them in the DB as C3 clusters.
- In a subsequent phase of the data archiving procedure, we will add the relevant follow-up and multi-λ information.
